Now in its fourth year, RMB Latitudes CuratorLab is a mentorship initiative designed to support early-career curators through hands-on experience, peer engagement, and professional development. This year we are proud to announce a new partnership with Art School Africa, a registered non-profit organisation, committed to rethinking arts education across the continent.
"The partnership is a natural fit, as both organisations are deeply committed to supporting local talent, empowering the next generation of art professionals, and contributing to a more inclusive and accessible art industry," says Art School Africa Founder, Julia Buchanan. "This dynamic online mentorship programme perfectly reflects Art School Africa’s mission to equip emerging practitioners with the tools, networks, and experience they need to thrive, while reinforcing our role as a cultural programme engine for local organisations."
For Latitudes, this alignment is both strategic and deeply value-driven. “Our goal has always been to build meaningful infrastructure for the visual arts in Africa,” says Roberta Coci, Director of Latitudes. “Partnering with Art School Africa brings an exciting new dimension to the programme, deepening the educational component while also expanding our reach into networks of emerging curators who are committed to both critical thought and practical engagement.”
Together, RMB, Latitudes and Art School Africa aim to foster a new model for curatorial mentorship – one that bridges theory and practice, and prioritises long-term, sustainable growth within the African arts ecosystem.
Applications for the 2025 RMB Latitudes CuratorLab programme are now open - apply today! Applications close 16 July 2025.
