Latitudes Online is a global platform for art from Africa. The platform has been viewed in 208 countries, and has shipped artworks across the world. With over 3000 artists from the continent represented on the site, it is on its way to becoming the largest online platform for art from Africa.
We're thrilled to announce that Latitudes Online is relaunching in October with a brand-new, state-of-the-art platform. Our new site is designed to offer a seamless, user-friendly experience for both exhibitors and collectors, with a sales-forward visitor journey that makes it easier than ever to discover and acquire art.
As the only curated online marketplace dedicated to African art, our point of difference is our unwavering commitment to quality. Every single artwork will be personally assessed by our team of in-house curators. This ensures that collectors who come to Latitudes are confident that they are finding exceptional work by leading contemporary artists from the continent and its diaspora.
Africa is bursting with creative talent but has too few sustainable avenues to support practising artists. We invite you to join us in creating sustainable change for Africa's creative economy.
We have a tiered membership model designed to meet your specific needs. It's deliberately more accessible and transparent than international platforms, allowing you to choose the option that best suits your practice.

Independent Artists - R150.00
Galleries and Organisations - R 450.00
Annual Fee: R1 800 incl VAT
For galleries managing their own sales and shipping (including those based outside South Africa), please get in touch (email - boitumelo@latitudes.online) to discuss a bespoke, non-commission-based plan.
This model is a strategic choice, especially when compared to other costly art marketplace platforms.
We're not just creating a platform; we're building a trusted, high-quality destination for African art. We would love for you to be a part of it.

ArtistLab is a practical programme for artists looking to build a career in the industry. Presented by established arts professionals, this free 5-session intensive seminar programme is training participating artists in some of the key skills needed to build a strong foundation for a career in the arts. In addition, artists develop work, under the supervision of an established artist, towards an online exhibition hosted by Latitudes Online.
CuratorLab is a practice-based, online curatorial residency for emerging curators in Africa. The inaugural edition took the format of a facilitated online residency for curators from each of South Africa's nine provinces. For the second iteration, we extended our reach to offer the opportunity to Curators from not only South Africa, but Botswana, Ghana, Nigeria, Namibia and Mozambique too.
Designed to offer practical experience in the industry and to hone the curatorial skills of young curators, CuratorLab is one of the few programmes of its kind on the continent. It allows for participating candidates to plan and conceptualise their own show to be hosted on Latitudes Online.
Both ArtistLab and CuratorLab are ongoing programmes intended to provide skills and resources to artists and curators in South Africa and on the broader continent.
