Music at RMB Latitudes Art Fair | Latitudes Live

-------------------

We are thrilled to share that RMB Latitudes Art Fair teamed up with Unofficial Officials once again to curate an exciting music element for the RMB Latitudes Art Fair. This year, alongside their signature playlists, Unofficial Officials had 'The Dig x Jazz re:freshed' and Kagiso Makgalemele bringing their unique sounds that elevated the art fair experience.

UNOFFICIAL OFFICIALS serves as a dynamic platform dedicated to providing emerging and established artists with opportunities to showcase their talents, build connections, and foster an authentic sense of community within the industry. Their comprehensive approach encompasses event hosting, curation, and insightful consulting, to equip our creative partners with a diverse range of tools to explore and engage with art in all its forms.

Day one included a playlist curated by Unofficial Officials as Part I of the series, day two included The Dig x Jazz re:freshed, on day three one heard Unofficial Officials Part II curated by 2Shoes, and day four was curated by Kagiso Makgalemele.

The Dig x Jazz re:freshed Presented The Afrodiaspora connection playlist powered by RMB Latitudes Art Fair | The African Bag curated for RMB Latitudes Art Fair

This playlist was a digger's delight and deep exploration into all corners of the African music bag. Classic rerubs, rare grooves and future dubs from all parts of the motherland with Afro-diasporic influences and contributions from our global family that makes African music the universal music soundscape.

Re lorile, curated for RMB Latitudes Art Fair

In Setswana, re lorile means ‘we dreamt’ – and this selection of African and African-inspired sounds was curated to evoke both visceral and devotional responses. Traditional instrumentals, discordant melodies, acapella chants, nature recordings and deep basslines converge into an immersive soundscape that enhances the perception and experience of the art.
